Last week we had our annual Maker Faire. Once again the students took the lead and amazed us with their thinking, problem solving, creativity, and so much more. It was wonderful to see so many parents and grandparents in the building helping students “make”. If you go onto our school twitter feed, you will see that many of us were busy tweeting pictures and videos. Please take a look at the photo gallery below at some of the great Maker Faire creations. If you click the link here you will read a great blog post that district principal, Antonio Vendramin, wrote about our Maker Faire.
Our leadership team has been busy spreading kindness this month. If you have been able to come into the school you will have sign our Kindness Message Board along with our Kindness Tree. Leadership students have been looking for and noticing all the acts of kindness happening in our school. To acknowledge our kind students the leadership team has been handing out You Are Changing the World acknowledgement cards.
We have more upcoming events in February to promote and spread kindness. We are encouraging all students to wear pink every Wednesday in the month of February. Our student leaders are reading picture books to primary classes around theme of kindness (books about inclusion, accepting differences, etc.). In the upcoming weeks, the team is showing kindness videos to intermediate classes. Click the link here , here, and here to watch the videos.
Please join us for our Kindness Assembly on Thursday, February 22nd at 1 pm.
